maid style AKB-kei

Harajuku, located in middle of Tokyo, is very popular among teenagers.

Similarly, Shibuya, located next to Harajuku, attracts teenagers and early 20’s people.

Meanwhile, Akihabara, well known as electronics district, has the ability to pull in more customers from people of 20’s to 30’s. Akihabara is the most comfortable place for them.

The Maid style fashion showed up in Akihabara around 2003, and it became a boom gradually.

This fashion is not an Akihabara special style any longer, and has been generalized to everywhere now.

The boom of Akihabara shifts from costume players to street performer, and Maid café keeps increasing. The latest boom is a Rojo-idle (popular female street performer).

The staffs of Maid café in Akihabara “Royal Milk” analyze that this phenomenon might reflect the needs of people gathering in Akihabara, which something pretty or unique are required.

Almost of all the waitress of Maid café are early 20’s, and enjoy working there.

The demand of the staff and the customer is completely corresponding, that’s why Made café expands more and more without ending in a temporally boom.
